K–12 School Group Visit Request Form

Make The Met part of your school year! We invite you to request a guided visit led by trained Museum educators and volunteers or a self-guided visit, which allows you to lead your own students through the Museum. Please note that appointments are required for all school groups visiting the Museum.

Guided-visit reservations should be made three weeks in advance of the requested date, and reservations for self-guided groups should be made at least two weeks in advance. A separate form must be submitted for each visit. Your visit is not confirmed until you have received a confirmation letter by email from the Museum.

To ensure that we are providing a safe environment for all, the Museum has additional guidelines in place. See Visitor Guidelines for more information.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's school tour program is made possible by the generosity of Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman.

Additional school programs are made possible by the Brodsky Family Foundation, The New York Community Trust, Susan J. Schulte Fund, Marlene and Spencer Hays Foundation, and public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

Visit Information
Please note that changing your visit topic may require changes to your date and time preferences.

You have requested a guided visit. These hour-long tours are led by trained Museum educators and volunteers and offer amazing opportunities for your students to make the most of their encounters with great works of art. Our educators engage students in fun, learner-centered, inquiry-based conversations that foster curriculum connections and encourage important learning skills such as evidence-based reasoning and critical thinking. Guided visits also inspire students to build strong content knowledge across disciplines, and support their confidence, curiosity, and creativity.

Due to the high demand for weekday morning guided tours, individual schools are limited to three weekday morning guided visits per semester. Please note that not all visit topics are available at all times.
